Farmington Valley Quilters
The Farmington Valley Quilters' Guild is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to preserve the tradition, culture and history of quilting, to promote knowledge and understanding of all aspects of quilting, and to promote good fellowship among all persons interested in the art of quilting. The guild was organized by Sherry Burke, Betsy Henebry, Lucille Ladden, Elaine Nichols (Reimer), Elaine O'Leary and Carol Sherrill. Elaine O'Leary served as the Guild's first President. The first meeting of the Farmington Valley Quilters was held on January 16, 1991. The group has continued to grow through the years. This is a vibrant, enthusiastic, and artistically diverse group of over 125 creative and productive members. The Guild offers members and guests artistic inspiration, opportunities for community service, educational workshops, social connection, and avenues for creative expression.
